Louise Olsen (b.1964), Stephen Ormandy (b.1964) and Liane Rossler (b.1965) formed Dinosaur Designs in 1985. Today, with stores in Sydney, Melbourne and
New York, it is one of the most successful design-based businesses in Australia. Their distinctive jewellery and homewares are made and finished almost entirely by hand in their Sydney studio. The three designers maintain a prolific output, with new ranges developed every two to three months.

The trio met in 1983 while studying painting at the College of Fine Arts, Sydney. Eager to generate income from their creative energies, they formed their partnership and began selling work at the Paddington markets. By the end of the 1980s, when their first store opened, Dinosaur Designs had already established a significant national reputation. In 2002 Object Gallery toured a major survey exhibition of Dinosaur Designs’ work to national and international acclaim.
