Sheridan Kennedy

Sheridan Kennedy (b.1964) has been a contemporary jeweller since 1985, and has become well known for creating highly original works, which blur boundaries between art, craft and design. She explores widely varied approaches to making jewellery – from creating one-off artworks for exhibitions to collaborating with leading fashion designers such as Michelle Jank and Akira Isogawa. Kennedy manufactures her own production range for selected retailers in Australia and abroad and has designed pieces under licence for Autore.
Having grown up on a sheep and cattle station outside the remote town of Winton, Queensland, Kennedy developed a fascination for the way machinery works. Tractor motors, generators and old equipment lying about the property became sources of inspiration, and mechanics and interactivity remain key features of her work today.
