Sisters Nicole and Simone Zimmermann (b.1967 and 1965) began their creative and business partnership in 1991. With a degree in fashion from East Sydney
Technical College, Nicole manages the creative process while Simone, with her background in marketing, oversees production and sales.

Since opening their first store in Sydney in 1992, Zimmermann has steadily expanded and now has nine stores around Australia. The label sells to David Jones stores nationally and an impressive list of stockists in London, New York, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Initially forging its reputation through innovative swimwear design, Zimmermann has developed a distinctive style, with bold use of colour, pattern and striking silhouettes. Since 1996 Zimmermann has been showing seasonal collections in Australia, creating two swimwear and ready-to-wear collections each year. The clothes have a feminine, sexy look that resonates with a sense of life in Sydney – a warm and social city with extraordinary beaches, cafes and bars.
